With all of the blocks gone and the teams quickly being filled on The Voice, the coaches have to start being a bit more discerning about their contestant selections in round five. However, there’s still at least one four-chair turn to be fought over, and surprise! One of the contestants who makes it through decides to channel his good luck in getting one “yes” into seeking another as he proposes marriage to his girlfriend.

Here’s who made it through on The Voice‘s blind auditions this week.
Beth Griffith-Manley (46 – Detroit, Mich.)
What to know: Her father was Johnny Griffith, one of the Grammy-winning Funk Brothers, and grew up knowing she’d been bitten by “the bug.” After working as a receptionist, she got to sing backup for Anita Baker, who believed she had a solo career ahead of her.
The performance: Beth’s lively rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Til You Come Back to Me (That’s What I’m Gonna Do)” shows off her classic bop aesthetic and gets the attention of both Kelly Clarkson and John Legend, who identifies with her midwest origins, statement outfit, and feel-good song choice. Ultimately, it’s Kelly who wins Beth over with her flattering compliments about her bold song choice and moving tones and the fact that she shares the same kind of pop-rasp as her new coach.

Selkii (31 – Durban, South Africa)
What to know: Selkii (pronounced: SELL-key) met her supportive husband on a cruise ship, and he is the one who has convinced her to join the show (with hopes that she’d join John Legend or Blake Shelton’s teams).
The performance: Selkeii’s peppy take on Macy Gray’s “I Try” gets the attention of Adam Levine right away, and while there are some spots in the delivery where she drops out and/or goes off-pitch, she’s got a few runaway notes that also convince Blake Shelton to turn. Although Adam Levine says all the right things about his enthusiasm for her unique artistry, Blake somehow brings out some strange guesses about the culture in her home nation, and it’s enough to make her follow her husband’s wishes to join Blake’s team.

Denton Arnell (31 – Chicago, Ill.)
What to know: He currently runs the art department at a youth church but grew up singing and playing music. He is deeply in love with his girlfriend and plans to double down on his nervousness for today by auditioning and proposing to her.
The performance: His take on Drake’s “Hold On We’re Going Home” is smooth and built with some easy runs that impress John Legend enough to earn a turn. There are still some things to work on with his range and lower register, but he’s in good hands on Team John. Once he gets the first yes he wants, it’s on to the matter of asking another big question, and despite headbutting Tiffany on his way down to take a knee, he still gets the answer he wants there, too. Congrats to the happy couple on an engagement they’ll not soon forget — for better and for worse.

Ciera Dumas (21 – Kernersville, N.C.)
What to know: She’s a hair chameleon who doesn’t even know her own age off-hand and likes to live by the “go big or go home” mantra — even if she’s incredibly nervous for this challenge. She’s most excited to perform for Kelly Clarkson and John Legend.
The performance: Adam Levine and John Legend are both impressed with her Ann Wilson-meets-Emily Haines-style growl tones during her delivery of Demi Lovato’s “Tell Me You Love Me.” Adam loves her power, and while John’s taken by both her folksy intro notes and her power grab at the end, she ultimately signs up to sing with the rockstar du jour.

Andrew Sevener (22 – Alvarado, Tex.)
What to know: He plays in a band with his parents but is ready to try a solo career so that he can get out of the RV sales-by-day, gigging-by-night business
The performance: It takes Blake Shelton a little bit of time to hear what he needs to in Andrew’s version of “Honky Tonk Woman,” but once he brings his slide guitar skills into the equation, Blake’s able to overlook some of his wobblier notes and offer him a lone chair turn.

Mari Jones (20 – Clermont, Fla.)
What to know: She works at a makeup salon and loves the fact that she doesn’t have to worry about her looks for this show.
The performance: It only takes a few notes of “Boo’d Up” for Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend to tamp their buttons in sequence. The rest of her performance isn’t quite as full and complete as her intro, but she still shows off a wide range. Kelly compliments the fluidity of her tones, and John praises her confidence, but it’s Adam who notices her very ’70s vibe and promises he would be the best fit to help groom her gifts for this show.

Crystal Rose (26 – Kansas City, Mo.)
What to know: She has seven siblings whom she became separated from after a fire at her childhood home. Through music, she’s found an escape and sense of community.
The performance: Although her take on “Wicked Game” is compelling for its haunting low notes and brave upper reaches, it just isn’t cohesive enough to earn her a chair turn today. However, Bebe Rexha has heard enough to offer her a spot on the Comeback Stage.
