Ryan Reynolds is making Betty White feel special on her 97th birthday.
The actor wished his The Proposal costar a happy birthday on Thursday with a funny and sweet message on Instagram. Reynolds, 42, joked about their shared past with a photo of the two looking lovingly at each other while on a talk show.
“I don’t usually wish ex-girlfriends Happy Birthday. But Betty’s special. Happy Birthday to the one and only, @bettymwhite 
” Reynolds wrote.
The Canadian actor wished her happy birthday with another hilarious post last year, too. Dressed as Deadpool, Reynolds poked fun at White’s previous quote on how her secret to a healthy life is consuming foods that she loves, including hot dogs and vodka, “probably in that order.”
“Happy Birthday to the one and only @bettymwhite! Cheers to another year of ‘Tinis and Weenies!” Reynolds captioned his photo of the antihero with a framed picture of White eating a hotdog.
White is no stranger to people poking fun at her age — and she does it herself, too! The television legend took the stage at the 2018 Emmy Awards and reflected on her senior status.
“Somebody said something the other day about first lady of television, and I took it as a big compliment,” White said.
Then came the punchline: “And then I heard her talking to her daughter a little later, and she said, ‘First lady, she’s that old. She was the first one way back.’ “
White also reflected on her extraordinary career.
“It’s incredible that I’m still in this business and you are still putting up with me … It’s incredible that you can stay in a career this long and still have people put up with you. I wish they did that at home.”
